Luxury Ancestral Skincare
About US
Your skin isn’t thirsty—it’s hungry.
About Us
VÆR (rhymes with Fair): In old Norse means weather, but in modern poetry, it means a place to shelter from the weather. A perfect symbol of our brand; modern and ancient, a sanctuary for your skin against the elements.
VÆR was born out of a simple realization: we were more careful about what we ate than what we put on our skin. After cleaning up our diet—cutting seed oils, processed food, and inflammatory ingredients—we started asking tougher questions.
We had just bought a half a cow from a local farm and were standing there, looking at packages of beautiful white beef suet, wondering: what now?
That’s when it hit us: the same ingredients we worked so hard to eliminate from our meals were still sitting on our bathroom shelves—in moisturizers, sunscreens, and so-called “clean” products. Most of them contained synthetics we’d never eat: formaldehyde, emulsifiers, seed oils, petrochemicals. If we wouldn’t put it in our body, why put it on our skin?
We started researching. We started rendering. We started blending. And VÆR was born.
What We Believe
Your skin doesn’t need hydration. It needs food.
It doesn’t need 15 steps. It needs recognizable, bioavailable ingredients that support its natural function—without disrupting or overpowering it.
We believe ancestral ingredients like grass-fed tallow, jojoba oil, beeswax, and calendula have stood the test of time because they work—without causing dependency, inflammation, or long-term irritation. Your skin knows what to do with them.
What Makes VÆR Different
We are not an Etsy maker or a mass market “natural.”
VÆR products are minimalist, skin-compatible skincare with a luxury feel.
We source as locally as possible, especially our tallow—from small farmers who practice nose-to-tail ethics and zero waste.
We keep our ingredient lists short, whole, and powerful.
We make everything in-house as a family-run business—from the infusions and recipes to the web design and shipping.
We don’t rely on marketing buzzwords. We rely on results.
How VÆR Should Feel
VÆR is skincare that feels grounded, wise, and real. We want you to feel pampered—and when you go back to your old brand, we want you to notice how gross it feels in comparison.
This isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about remembering what worked—and making it better.
Welcome to VÆR. Skincare your skin actually recognizes.
